Re: 3 point seat belt installation
A lot of guys buy seats with them built in.
I had a s10 parts truck so I took the belts. Im going to reinforce the cab and weld a nut in. Try and make them look like they belong... |

Re: 3 point seat belt installation
Lots of search stuff on this. Basically, drill a 1/2" or so hole where you want the belt to hang through the inner cab panel. Drill 2 smaller holes at the 12 and 6 clock positions for plug welds. Take a large washer or a piece of 1/8" steel for reinforcement, drill a hole and weld a 1/2x20 nut or whatever size your hardware uses to the plate. contour the metal plate/washer to the inner cab radius. Drop a string or wire through the upper plug hole in the panel until it drops out the bottom of the panel. Attach the string to small hole in the plate/washer approximately where the plug weld will be. Pull the string/wire up until the bolt/plate assy. is in place and start a bolt through the captive nut,(this takes a little "finagling") and tighten. Plug weld upper and lower holes to plate. Remove bolt, grind welds and you're done.
