72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
Sorry guys, I searched but I am not finding the right combination. I am looking to replace all 4 shocks on my k20 but not finding a good part number.
Its a 1972 k20 with leaf springs. Anyone have some suggestions based on experience or can just throw out some part numbers? Just looking to replace the worn out ones that are on there. Thanks, Jimmie

Re: 72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
If you're interested in KYB Gas-A-Just, rear shock #KG5417 is what I'm running. My K20 has 2.5" Softrides up front and the longer rear shocks are the right length to use up front also.
Edit: Summit Racing shows KYB Gas-A-Just front shock #KG5408 for your K20.

The blue truck in your avatar looks to have a lift on it.

Re: 72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
Crap, your right. I have a 3" lift in the rear and none in the front.

Re: 72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
I bet those front springs are aftermarket, with a small (less than 4") lift to them. More truck pics might help confirm it. My K20's OEM front springs were 2-leaf. The 2.5" Softrides are 5-leaf.

Re: 72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
your truck is lifted for sure. contact any of the major lift companies -tuff country, super lift, skyjacker etc., and ask for part numbers for a 3 inch lift. also find out who manufactures their shocks and get your local parts supplier to cross the numbers for you or just purchase them from one of the lift companies. your front springs might still have the original part number stenciled on the top leaf in white paint which would go a long way in trying to identify who made them.

Re: 72 K20 Leaf Spring Shocks
I was thinking something from the side would help, on level ground, to compare the front height to the rear.
But since I posted that, Jerry has confirmed what I suspected, and offered suggestions to help determine what you have and what shocks would work.
