1966 Front Turn Signal / Parking

This pertains to 64 - 66 trucks, that's why I ask it here. My left hand turn signal / parking lamp socket broke. It has 3 wires going to it, then 2 wire going to the right side. The only replacement socket you can find is a 2 wire. Common since tells me that the signal wires are separate, and the parking lamp would run from one side to the other, so I just spliced the wires together for the parking lamps (so I thought). When I did this, when you would turn on the left front signal, both sides would flash. I swapped the black and white leads, fixed the blinkers best I can tell, but now the parking lamps are messed up. Any ideas ? how did you fix it ? Thanks for any help !

Get a new parking light harness from AAW( American Auto Wire).

turns out it was the bulbs - again - put in good quality bulbs, problem went away. I had the same thing happen with the tail lights, when I switched brand of bulbs that problem went away also. Guess it took me X2 to learn my lesson.
