What's that you're pullin' behind that spendy motorhome??!!
Thought this was a cool sight and certainly nothing I have ever seen before. Most folks pull light little econo cars behind their diesel pusher but not this guy. Saw this on my way up from Cali this morning. Nice, big 4x4 behind a really nice motorhome.

Obviously someone who has money AND good taste.
Mine's not a diesel pusher and not something most people would call spendy, but I towed my 72 Blazer to Florida, up through the Carolinas, and back to Utah a few years ago. It was surprisingly easy to tow. |

I think the person in the truck was just being nice and helpin the motor home by pushing it up the hill!

I bet that gentleman has forgotten more about flat towing than I will ever know. Good on him. Looks like a real nice setup.

Re: What's that you're pullin' behind that spendy motorhome??!!
Input from the driveshaft only spins the things that are not in the oil. Input from the engine side spins the gears that throw lubricant. That's why many newer transfer cases have a rear pump to lubricate while flat towing.

He probably has the driveshafts disconnected. Or perhaps it has a newer drivetrain in it??

Yeah, just disconnect the driveshafts.
I read in a different thread that some RV'ers are offering a car hawling service to help pay the gas bill. Maybe this is one of them? That truck sure reminds me of Mudder's truck. {edit} Oh wait, his is a short step. |

Re: What's that you're pullin' behind that spendy motorhome??!!
Why can't you just disconnect the rear shaft and unlock the hubs?

He could have (I can't tell from the pics) lockout hubs on the rear axle.
