Re: September 2016 Truck of the Month (ToTM)
Ok, I am in. My ol'man drug her around for 15+ years always with a plan to put her on the road. When I lost him in 2006, I decided that I would finish what he hadn't been able to do. Its taken awhile myself but with the help of my son, some great friends/family and my baby girl asking if I could deliver her to the church for her wedding day, here she is.
Hope you like. bb

Re: September 2016 Truck of the Month (ToTM)
Needless to say I love this category. This was my fathers truck that he purchased new in 1966. I learned to drive in this truck at the lake when I was about 11 or 12 years old.
It was out of the family for about 5 year but I got her back a year after his passing in 2010 and finished the truck this year just in time for my oldest son's wedding. She was a work truck for much of her life, now she's a show girl with Air Ride, LS3 with Magnuson Heartbeat Supercharger, T56 6 Speed, Birdseye Maple Bed, 4 wheel disc, vintage air A/C. Mom and Dad on the tailgate: Son and New Daughter on the tailgate: Before and After: This is from a picture of my dad the year before I was born:

I'm not sure I will be able to vote, these things are too tough and personal. I have one too but it's still a project. Not streetable at this time. I will want to vote for all of them!
Keep them coming, I dig these family stories. DAC

Re: September 2016 Truck of the Month (ToTM)
I'll toss in mine. The GMC was originally purchased in Medicine Hat, in 1969. My parents bought it around 1977-78, what I recall. I have many great memories, camping and traveling around in the old green truck. Mom and Dad bought a 1982 Chevy Crewcab 3/4 ton with a larger camper, and I was able to buy the old truck from them. Pretty sure I paid $700 in 1987. The green beast and I have been on many adventures. Graduating High School, first date, through college, first real job, it was our limousine at our wedding, and still driving it today. The tired 327, four speed was pulled in 1990, which I regret not just rebuilding it. Instead replacing it with a freshly built 350/350. It was painted bright yellow in 1991, then re-sprayed in 1994 with the help of my friends. Except for new tires, a recovered seat, and a new carb a few years ago, it basically hasn't changed since 1994. Raised it to stock height in 2013, but it lost some character, so I lowered it again in 2014. It still feels like Dad's old truck, minus the smoke smell. Mom still drives with me once in a while. But my wife and I still enjoy cruising and going to car shows in it.

Re: September 2016 Truck of the Month (ToTM)
I'd like to nominate myself. This truck first came into the family when it went to my great-grandmother in eastern Oregon in the mid 70's. She drove it for many years using it as a berry picking truck and taking my grandmother out around town and to pick berries with her. She then sold it to my uncle who drove it for a few year and ended selling it back to my great-grandmother after not being able to take care of it. When she passed away in early 2000 my dad bought it. He had it for a few years and did a lot of basic tune ups and such before passing it to me in 2006. It did not officially become my first car till 2012 when I was 14 and actually able to work on it. I put a ton of work and time into myself and plan to pass it to my kids someday

Re: September 2016 Truck of the Month (ToTM)
My dad bought this 1976 Chevy Sport at S & J Chevrolet in Cerritos, Ca. I was with him the day he bought it. The next week the salesman drove it to the California Nevada stateline to deliver to my dad. My dad passed away in 2006 and willed it to me.
