Just trying to figure out how a guy would get the emblem off to repainted the box lid without breaking it

There are two studs that just press into the glovebox. Very carefully....I used a small putty knife and was able to get the emblem to pop off.

I have not seen anything that holds them in place other than pressure, but I have located some plastic emblem inserts that GM used on a variety of vehicles of the same era and they worked great on my reinstall.
