blower motor

I have a question. I just picked up a non a/c blower motor from auto zone for my 68. The one they sold me has a vent hole in it. From what I can tell this motor was used for a number of years, and some vehicles have a vent tube that plugs into the motor. Should I take it back and find a different one or just plug the hole? If I should plug it what should I use? Thanks!

If you can't find a vent tube You could plug it. The vent helps keep it cool and prolongs the life of the motor. Auto parts store or hardware store should have plugs....

i took a blower motor from a wreaked 84 chev truck and put in in my 69 and took the little rubber tube and the plastic gromet and drilled the hole in my air box and it worked great.

I have the vent tube on my motor, but it's just unplugged. Is a line supposed to be attached to it? I didn't see it in the manual

The vented motors have Aluminum copper coated windings , the non vented motors have solid copper windings .

I would not plug the vent ,I think by doing so it would reduce the motors life span.

Yeah I kinda thought I shouldn't plug it. They guy at the store said it should be fine. Guess I need to start searching for a tube at the local junk yards. As usual thanks for all the great advice.
