I am having trouble Identifying the engine I purchased out of a 1950 1 ton GMC. The number on the block is B22827862I. Can Anyone guide me to where I can trace it. Thanks .

Re: 1950 GMC Motor
on the older gmc trucks the first 3 numerals are the engine cubes. Looks like you have a gmc 228 cubic inch. I have a 59 and first 3 are 270. The big 6 is 302 --and there are bigger. I guess there was a 248 and 256 also-- all inline 6's.

Re: 1950 GMC Motor
OK. Thanks. Good to Know. Not much info out there on the serial#s. I hear the B is "Block". I guess the rest is the number of engine off the line?
