Talking Quick questions...

Hi all!
I just purchased a 1970 c20 custom camper. I am new to these trucks so I have some questions.

will a bench seat from a square body Chevy bolt right into these trucks? the seat In my truck is all ripped up.

is the A/C dangerous? I have heard the Freon they used in these have killed people, but I don't know that for sure.

the c20s were all 8 lug, if I wanted to go to a 6 lug, how would I do that?

i'm sure i'll have more questions later on, but for now that is all. thanks a bunch and I will post a build thread when I start working on it.

THANK YOU

Re: Quick questions...

I thought you were from CA when you asked if R12 is dangerous lol

Just don't inhale it!!!!!!!

IDK about the seat but you will need to change the rear axle shafts if you wish to go 6 lug. Do a front disk conversion and get the 6 lug version.....Easy to do but not CHEAP

Re: Quick questions...

I'm not a rocket surgeon but Freon is a noble gas, isn't it? Quite inert. Since it doesn't react with (much) anything, I figure it's likely safe. Displacing oxygen seems to be the biggest risk, but don't take my word for it.

Which axle do you have? The Eaton axle comes in both 8 lug and 6 lug. I've got a 6 lug on my 94 Yukon. If you really wanted to switch to 6 lug you might just put the shafts with the 6 lug flanges in.
