Picked up this 69 Short stepper today from the original owner, not tin the best shape by any means but it is a Unmolested truck except for the aftermarket am/fm raido witch was made for our trucks so no dash cutting was done thank god.............. also all the orig documents were in the truck.

Give it a CLR wash. I bet it cleans it up a lot.
I think you have a great start.

Re: picked up a short stepper today

Looks like a great find.

For a pa. Truck it doesnt look too bad so the po must've taken pretty good care of it.

Its not too often ya find a vehicle around here that still has all its paper work. Usually that translates from low ownership like the 9ft stepper i had.

I'm Curious how ya found it?

MORE PICS PLEASE!

"9ft stepper" I read that with envy! (No joke, I love long wheel bases).

Yes that is a nice looking stepside there and the paperwork is just a bonus.

Re: picked up a short stepper today

I found this truck in New jersey ,but it is not in that good of shape , I bought it for a parts truck ,for my on going 69 build , I might have to save her though ,one owner unmolested true short beds are getting so hard to find.....

I will be tearing in to her interior first thing in the morning and take a good peak at the cab and see if I want to save her.........

Hood, cowl ,one inner and one out fender is good ,only thing good on bed are both rear fenders and steps seem ok ,

cab roof looks to be not leaking although some rust is present, all the glass is real good ,doors are shot , seat good, door pannels arm rest and handles all good , grill is nice driver quality.

all gauges work .entire dash is nice with all its working parts , fuel tank no good , tires holding air not to bad tread.

engine compartment seem to be good heater works engine sounds great, true 80 K on engine and trans ,shifts ok. 3 on the tree need some TLC ,needs exhaust , frame is real Nice very soild and trailing arms are like new condition

Re: picked up a short stepper today

You gotta save that thing. I'd lay a 2x4 on that roof and try and hammer that roof dent down a bit. If you have another project I'd sell that one to someone that would save it and use the money to fix your project. Looks too good from what I see to part out. Post more photos.

Yhea it was a cool truck but i certainly did not need yet another project here.
I just couldnt let the po pull it across the scale too be turned into a import. I was hoping that the new owner would show up here ad he had good plans for it but i havent seen him here.

Your definitly not kidding there.

Yes agree Shame but usual for the area as you know, But I decided to build it , have a good frame ,all good wiring and lots of small parts that faired well

So just about ready to media blast the frame hopefully I can get the last 2 crossmembers out and few other mounts , then I can get the rails split to blast and Paint.
