What kind of wood did you use in your bed and what was the color of the stain? Very nice truck.

Quarter sawn red oak - from the lumber yard - milled and finished by a friend. He used a water based stain he mixed up - he made some samples and I wanted it as red as possible. He used my old boards as a drill and router template. A bit of a perfectionist he is. He hand sanded all the boards with small pieces of sandpaper on each of the stain and finish coats - about 8-9 hours sanding each time. He ended up putting on 13-14 coats of Epiphanes marine varnish - and three coats of a crystalline wax...

Beauityful truck, nice pics, that blue looks very classy. Just a tip next time take some shots with the camera about a foot or two off the ground. Thats how the magazines get those awesome shots.

agreed - I normally use my real camera instead of the iPhone, and I need to do just that!
