what's it rubbing on? Is the wheel rubbing or the tire?

Re: 1967 suburban wheel question transport wheels

The 6 lug rear axles are too narrow for the transports and the front hub is too big for the wheel to sit flush. I think I put 3/8" or 1/2" spacer up front with longer studs and on the rear ran a 1.25 or 1.5" spacer. But I broke the spacer studs and ended up reversing the rear wheels so its got a nice dish now and no spacer. Running a 285/35 rear tire and 265/35 front gives it a nice look.

thanks for info!!! we machined the center hub so the front sits on good now... as far as "reversing" the back wheel... you mean you cut the center out and flipped it??? or?????

Re: 1967 suburban wheel question transport wheels

So you bought that truck. That looked like a REALLY nice truck. I missed buying it from the seller in CA by just a few days.

What are your plans for it? Let me know if you ever change you mind and want to sell it.
