cab differences...help please

As you may know...I designed and sell cab corner speaker brackets for the 47-54 trucks. I used two different cabs for mock up, but both were the standard cab models without the corner windows. I have a customer with a 47 that has the corner windows...and he has sheetmetal in the rear cab corners...whereas the 48 and 52 cabs I used were open. Is this gentlemans 47 original (minus the suicide door setup of course), and if so, is this a difference between the two cab differences (window configuration)? I want to make sure I am taking care of the customer, and want to respond with factual information. Thanks in advance for your help everyone.

Yes 47 and some 48s had that comer sheet metal, The rear cab mount was in the center so it has bracing in the corner.

I have a 47 cab to replace my 50 that was wrecked. The sheet metal inside the cab corner looks like a perfect place to put speakers. Haven't figured out how I am going to do it yet

I have a 5 window that is titled as a 48 (for all I know it could be a 47). It was fairly straight and original when I got it. It has the metal in the corner and the center cab mount.

The one I bought was missing the center mount. May have to take the side mounts off of my 50, but seems easier to use the center mount. Anyone know if these are reproduced?

Re: cab differences...help please

It's not real clear in that photo but you can see about half of the stamped cutout in the corner piece on the other side. I think that may be where the speakers would need to be mounted but without a cab that you can measure off and fit to it would be a real challenge to make enclosures to fit right.

I checked your page on the brackets and don't think that will work with what you make unless you can shape them to fit and set the speakers over those cutouts.
