Color for stock hubcaps

I am starting to clean, polish and paint my stock 86 hubcaps.

Question, is the black a flat, satin or gloss?

Second question, any suggestions on a good color paint for the bowtie?

Thanks in advance

Re: Color for stock hubcaps

The bowtie would be Ochre (PPG 2323). Not sure about the black, looks satin to me.

Black is definitely not gloss.

I've never been able to distinguish between satin and flat.

Re: Color for stock hubcaps

rather than mix your paint - can rattle can the small bowtie on the caps - tip per Solver http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=124767

I bought some of this and it is a very good match for the hubcaps (and all 73+ ochre trim pieces - Silverado emblems, etc etc).

I have used the same stuff. You can use a light rag with a little thinner to clean up and flatten edges when it's semi-dry. I have also sprayed some in a cap and used a little brush to get little details on emblems and things like that
