here is a belt routing diagram
http://www.fixya.com/cars/t5953430-need_diagram

you will need the AC/PS bracket and a AC bypass/delete pulley ,$30 DORMAN 34174
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...031500&jsn=505

May have to run a power steering pump just for the pulley, I don't think anyone makes a bypass pulley for PS,

Other option is to go with a early Chevy V belt system all you are running is an alternator, you would also need to switch the water pump out as the serpentine belt system runs the water pump reverse flow from what I understand, not 100% sure on that.

Take the old belt, wrap it around the pulleys in the manner it needs to go in and cut it so that you have it at the right length to take to the parts house for show and tell.

You will need to have a helper take the tension off the idler pulley so you can get and accurate measurement and the idler will tighten the belt correctly when you are done.

You may need the ac delete pulley that he showed above to get clearance on that side for the belt as the majority of those trucks were sold with ac and power steering and there may be belt clearance issues.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Yes, looking at the diagram closer , if you had a shorter belt and the bypass pulley ,you could get away from the need for a PS pulley .

Just take a some Tylenol, and drink some Chamomile tea to calm your nerves, a little brandy wouldn't be bad either, before heading to the parts store, they will be lost most of the people working there only know what a computer gives them . Not even sure if they know how to measure a belt. NAPA would be a good start.

If it was just a/c delete then you don't need a delete pulley kit. Trucks and vans without a/c used a second idler pulley (Dayco 89006) a shorter belt (Gates K060870 or K060875).

Mr48chev has the right approach with the old belt. I'd get the 89006 pulley and work on determining a size for a new belt.

He has nothing there to attach the Idler pulley to or with. He will need the factory AC bracket .. Not sure if a non AC truck uses the same factory bracket, may be hard to find if not.
The Dayco idler pulley ,is most likely the same as the one in AC delete pulley kit, just mounted with a extra mounting bracket to adapt to factory AC/PS bracket.

Be sure to be looking at 6 ribbed belts as there are 5 ribbed belts also

Why don't you take all that pulley and accessory stuff off and just run the stock 1959 water pump and pulleys and buy an alternator bracket if you don't have power steering and air conditioning?
When you are ready to install air conditioning and power steering, you will have the setup in your garage.

I have some stock stuff if you need it at a really good price.

Maybe I made a mistake thinking he still has the bracket?

Good point. It's the same bracket on the 20 or so vans in our fleet but trucks may be different.

They usually make the delete pulley the same diameter as the a/c compressor clutch so you don't need a different belt. The idler I mentioned is about 3 1/2" diameter.
