Vinyl wrap woes...
Well im a first timer on wrap and let me tell you...its not easy....stretching is not bad but tring to shrink it is a different story..lol. im trying to decide if i should leave it or try something else😕

I love wrap, wrapped a few cars now and its not easy. You didn't choose a very easy first project either, but it doesn't look bad. I say keep it.

Yea , i think im gonna live with it. I think the worst part is the corner i zoomed in on..once the seats are in i think some of that will be less noticeable. Over all its pretty slick looking i guess. Im gonna try wrapping my wheel centers too. Im a little worried on them cause they are deep dish.

I'm not a lover of wrap jobs. I see you acheived a look that paint won't give, but I've had paint last longer than wraps have existed, so why not paint (in other cases). I'd be concerned how vinyl would hold up in such a high heat environment as on the top of the dash right beneath the glass. Gets mighty hot in the sun right there...and such a dark color. I agree it looks great and totally custom. Just a skeptic when it comes to that newfangled stuff.

Even using the best adhesive it will delaminate in the heat , they contain solvents that will lift the painted surface . Convex corners are much easier than concave .vinyl stretches but won't shrink without wrinkles that lead to project failure in time . Looks cool , won't last .

Looks good for your first try. Dash looks good in there. As for all the haters to vinyl wraps saying it wont last. As long as you bought a good quality wrap you shouldn't have any issues with it. I own a graphic company and have wrapped many dash and interior pieces and haven't had an issue with any of them. My own truck I wrapped a dash piece about 7 years ago and its still holding strong and looks good.

Well they claim its good quality...its th VVIVID XPO dry carbon fiber.... I can say that for me I had better luck with a blow drier than the heat gun. I will melt quick...I did go over it with the heat gun and temp checker to set it good. I watched a video that said to bring the temp up to 175 for a good bond and so it wont try to shrink back to its original shape.

VVIVID is normally pretty good vinyl, should last for you. It doesn't like shrinking to well, but I don't think carbon fiber vinyl shrinks well no matter the brand. I've melted a ton of vinyl over the years, just have to keep doing it. The more you wrap stuff the easier it'll be. Got a good start, keep up the good work.

Vinyl out here in the desert will last 10 to 15 years in direct sunlight. Interiors will last much longer. Assuming its automotive grade as well as the adhesive, no reason it won't last at least 10 years. I doubt it gets to 115* regularly out there and it's not in direct sunlight.
