pbfab 73-87 bodydrop
pbfab said there are 2 diff types of frames...one with cats an one with no cats....whats the diff in the 2 frames?

if memory serves, the frame for trucks with cats had a dip or half moon protrusion on the frame rail.. I think the question has been asked before, I might be able to find a reference other than my old memory bank..

if you talkin bout it looking like the bottom of the frame is bent down on the driver side I know what you are talking about

Drivers side rail on trucks after 1978 or 1979 or so have a bow in the lower edge of the frame rail to clear the catalytic converter. Almost looks like a bent frame but it's factory. If both of the rails you have match in the area under the cab you prob have non cat frame.
Do a search on this forum for the words bent frame and I bet you will find the threads. Frank
