Question 87 k10 (v10) transmission problem

Helping my buddy out, he's got an 87 k10, it's just a mud truck. It's a frankentruck, I thought it had a th350 in it, but I don't know now. We took it out to a bog and ran it most of the day. When we were done we noticed it was leaking a lot of trans fluid. We towed it home and it looks like it is leaking out of a diaphram on the passenger side, right above where the pan meets the trans housing twards the front of the pan. I am (1) trying t figure out what trans it is, and (2) trying to figure out what this part is so o can get what parts I need to fix it. I will try to upload a picture of the diaphram, but that's all I got for right now. I can get more on saturday.

4L60

That would be the 2-4 Servo on the passenger side. It's not a common spot for a leak to start.

It's only a 3 speed, the diaphram look's different, it almost looks like a vacuum advance on a distributer.

It looks like number 1 in this picture but its like where the bolt right below #5 that's in the pan.

I'm working on a picture right now

that would be a vacuum modulator and it sounds like you have a th400 trans.

I think you're right, I found a few different pictures of the th400 and it looks like that is right. Now to figure out why it's leaking there.

Thank you sir!
