Aluminum Rods
what's yall's opinion on running manley aluminum rods on the street....not a daily driver maybe drive to a local car show or work(30 miles )......

The biggest thing I saw that scared me was you are not supposed to crank an aluminum rod engine below 50 degrees...That would put me off from running them

Ummm...NO WAY... aluminum rods have a life expectancy of around 40 1/4 mile passes. The engine must be specicially built..ie..more piston to head clearance. For the little bit of weight savings it is not worth the head aches. Aftermarket rods are cheap now(forged). A very nice set of scat or eagle H beams are 300 bucks

I agree. Don't use aluminum rods unless you plan on changing them after a certain amount of passes(or miles). The problem is that they grow a lot with heat and they stretch at high rpms. That's why you have to run more head to piston clearance.
