Lowering springs or dropped spindles?

Is there a "right" answer to drop the front?

First we need to know how much you are looking for (the drop). 1",2", 3", 5" are all possible...

I'm leaning toward 3" in the front.

Re: Lowering springs or dropped spindles?

for 3" I would go spindles. If you wanted lower in the future, you then can swap in lowered coils.

Thanks. The 4" guys look cool, so that's possible.

Re: Lowering springs or dropped spindles?

Do your research as there are 2 1/2" spindles and 3" spindles. Wheel choice figures into the equation too.

Yep. I like my old school rally 15" wheels, but seems like you need to go bigger when you go lower.

Re: Lowering springs or dropped spindles?

You didn't say what year truck you had. If you have a drum brake truck then spindles aren't available unless you are converting to disc.

IMO, if you have a drum truck you SHOULD be converting to disc...

Spindles have no effect on ride, alignment (shouldn't at least...) spring rate, travel, etc. So, my opinion again, is that is the BETTER way to lower. But most guys want more than 2 1/2" when they drop so you do both. 2" springs have minimal effect on all of the above.

My truck is dropped with ECE 2 1/2" spindles and 2" springs so I did put my money where my mouth is.
