Need pics of 3/5 drop.

I plan to one day install bags in my project, but for now am going to install 3" dropped spindles, and some 5" springs in the back. That way once I can afford the bags, I will leave in the dropped spindles, and only have to get rid of the dropped springs in the rear. ('81 front suspension)

So does anyone have any pics of a 3/5 drop to give me some ideas? I hope to also run 18/20" or 18/18" rims on the truck.

Thanks!

Here is a 3 inch spring of front, 5 inch drop in the rear. Itll probably settle a little more in the front with sheetmetal and the springs seating after a few miles. I should have the sheetmetal back on by the weekend.

Oldskool. I'm running 4 inch springs and a 1 inch drop block. I also have an adjustable track bar and shock relocation kit from Classic Performance.

Did that require a c-notch? If not, does the anything hit on bumps? I keep hearing conflicting stories about 5 inches in the rear.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Also did you do any other changes in the rear such as adjustable panhard, shock mount relocation, ect. What size are your rimz and tires? And how does it ride?

thanks

I would probably recommend a C-notch kit if you plan on hauling anything, however I did not install one. The rearend does hit the bumpstops from time to time, if the air in the shocks is low. It would probably rest on the bump stops if there were a load.

I didn't notice any real need to add an adjustable panhard bar. My rearend is centered just fine. However i didn't put a micrometer to it (LOL).

With no load it rides pretty good. If i get the chance some day I will use the shock relocation kit, and the C-notches to make it right.

The wheels and tires are as follows:

front 15 x 8 with 215/70's
rear 15 x 10 with 275/60's

S-C, the backs wheels are 15x8, with a tall back tire. I was borrowing it from a buddy and have given it back now. I'll admit though, it was fun to drive . My daughters liked ridin in the back seat. With the lightweight baja kit and full synchro trans, pitchin it around the corners was commonplace. The mileage sure didnt suck either.

Ive got Doetsch Tech drop shocks, along with the track bar and shock relocators, no c-notch. That'll come later.
