She is home.....finally

On the way back from a weekend in the mountains I get a call from the transport folks. They want to know if they can meet today to drop off the truck, which by the way is several days early. So I picked up the pace, told the wife no flea markets today, and got home as quick as I could. It was a little late in the day so I got a few pictures but I will post up a few more tomorrow. Bottom line is, its clean, drives great, and I am VERY happy with the purchase. I am confident if the pictures and description on eBAY were better, this truck would have sold before I got a chance at it.

Yes, steelies will go on soon. Gonna spend a few days going over it and seeing exactly what I have. I will post a few more pics this evening.

Thanks.

Unfortunately she will be sold off to the highest bidder

I will spend a little time with both, at least long enough to get a few parts installed that I picked up for her. New high beam switch, new tilt indicator, and a few other little things. Then I will post her up for sale. I would like to keep both but if I were going to have two, they wouldn't both be K20's.

I have some more pics of the GMC I will be posting up with some questions and comments shortly.

Re: She is home.....finally

I had today off so I have been rolling under, above, and around the GMC today getting a feel for what's what and I have a few pics, questions, and comments.

First off I am in awe at how clean/rust free this thing is. You hear folks say its rust free or no rust but I never believe that and this is no exception. However, the rust it does have is so minimal its hardly worth noting, but I will

Gonna make a few posts in a row so hang with me.

First the rust areas I found...

Under driver door, that's it...lol. Unless you count the exhaust pipes and master cylinder.

Alternator....

I assume I am still dealing with an externally regulated alternator? It seems that way but could use some feedback. Here are pics of the alternator and the external regulator. I assume its fine to leave it as is. Its operating fine.

AUX Battery....

The battery is missing as the PO said it was but all the wiring is there except for the relay. I will pick one up and get the AUX battery installed.

Heater Valve.....

Bypassed for some reason. Looks new, but who knows. I will be checking for operation and re-installing or buying a new one. A/C seems to work fine.

Re: She is home.....finally

Lastly....for now. The hub caps. The wheels were sent separate so I should get them soon.

Any feedback about any of the above would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jimmie

Got this one figured out anyway. The PO said it was leaking and needed to be replaced so he jumped it out in the mean time.
