Aftermarket interior stuff...

I just picked up a very nice 86 C30 and am used to things like... cup holders and auxillary lights...

I cant stick one of those cheap plastic consoles on the floor since the shifter will smash my cups... I dont want to put holes in the dash or anything either...

Thoughts?

Second, Id like to put some lights on, etc... but again I dont want to put holes in anything to mount the switches.....

What have you done or seen done to make the interior more functional without drilling holes?

Do I just have to suck it up?

Ahhh, another thought

Do interiors of other years bolt in?
Could I get a pair of buckets and a center console out of a '93+up and install it?

Thanks

I've seen some seat mounted center counsels before but not sure On my way! what there called. I may be able to replace existing lights with newer bulbs or upgrading to led's. Not sure on the interior.

Like mentioned above, a nice bench seat console, you can hook up some under dash led lights, then just wire them to the dome light/headlight switch. I think you can also get a double cup holder that slides into the ash tray.

On the lights, I was thinking more of having exterior lights with switch mounted inside.

Usually there is a 3/8" hole that needs to be drilled, or something similar that secures the switch to the dash.

You could mount a swing out cup holder like this http://www.williamsstreetrods.com/in...rod/prd456.htm almost anywhere or http://www.watsons-streetworks.com/s...upholder-43053

Re: Aftermarket interior stuff...

I have a short seat top console I use in my 83. I have a granny 4 speed and the shifter gets in the way of anything longer. It does the job OK, but I will eventually install Chrysler Sebring convertible bucket seats I have and build a new console to go between the seats. I like the integral seat belts.

This is what I have for cupholders. And it doubles as a armrest. It has storage for small items inside. I have the Drinkster. They have 3 types for the bench seat and a big selection on colors. With mine I had left over charcoal vinyl for my reupholstery, they were able to make mine with my vinyl. Perfect match!!

^^That^^

Then add a switch panel inside of it for added accessories & use a bulkhead disconnect. Run the wiring under the carpet & seat up through where the openings are for the seatbelt stanchions to go through. If you need to removed the console/seat for whatever reason, simply disconnect the bulkhead.

Clean & no holes on the original stuff.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
