Cup Holder

I know I made this for my Jeep but it would work great on a 67-72 truck too!
3 small screws to attach it to the bottom of the dash.

I used some scrap aluminum to fabricate a cup holder for my Jeep.

It holds Gatorade style bottles, regular water bottles and cups...and it can do it at the same time.

I like it. What do you all think?

Here is the link on Ebay for the billet cup holder. Kind of spendy....but I had it sitting on my shelf.

This is the one with 2 regular cup holders:

This is the one with a cup holder and a bottle holder:

They also make a single cup holder.

Re: Cup Holder

That is pretty cool. I don't like anything hanging under the dash that didn't come from the factory or a dealer, but cool nonetheless.

I'm sure some people will enjoy it. It'd be cool to incorporate that into the ash tray, with enough distance away from the dash to actually hold something, unlike the now sold out versions that could hardly hold a soda can.

I have one of those cup holders to which you refer....and you are correct....they are cool but the only thing they hold 'fairly well' is a 12 oz can.

I actually bought the billet holder to put in my truck but I could not figure out a good way to put it in dash.

Re: Cup Holder

I like the concept a lot. I am completely hooked on 32 oz plastic cups with lid and straw. What are sometimes called souvenir cups, and they are common around here in BBQ and sandwich shops. I find most drink holders to be inadequate for the task of holding those. Bums me out.

Re: Cup Holder

That's a neat idea.

Anything that makes your vehicle more convenient for you is not only useful, but could be a life saver. Say your water bottle rolls off into the floor and in a moment of thoughtlessness, you reach for it, lose control, and crash. I know a lady who is paralyzed from the neck down because of exactly that.

Re: Cup Holder

You can weld a bracket to the center front of your bench seat bottom and have the bracket hidden behind the material and install one of those cup holders . I've done it before using a plastic hidden cup holder from a minivan and when closed you can't see it standing in the door looking inside . driving down the road it's easy to reach yet out of the way .
