how to remove gas tank level switch

Is there an easy way to remove the gas tank level float switch? Do I need a tool to remove the clip that holds it in? Is there anything special I need to do to get it out?
I think I will have to remove the seat to get it out. any suggestions would be helpful. I am going to replace the float portion on it. I think from what I trouble shot on it from your help last time we figured my float was bad.
anyway I need to remove it to find out.

anytime, but put some electrical tape or something on the tip, just to be safe, so it dont spark, because if it does and the spark hits a pocket of fuel vapor then well poof.

Great idea I will wrap it in electrical tape or look for a brass punch

ive still sparked with brass, it sparks and you could be toast, look at how little a spark a spark plug makes.

Thumbs up Re: how to remove gas tank level switch

Take the ring off with a punch have a fan blowing across you while doing it to keep fumes out. Blow the fan from passenger side to drivers side to keep tank fumes away if coming out of filler hose.
I have used pliers to get them loose also.
Once its loose just unhook the wire and twist it out.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
