RPO on Spid Question

Saw this Spid on truck for sale on EBay and was wondering what the option Code 1YD410 Rear Axle means. I think the YD4 are the significant numbers .

I'm thinking it means it has a 4:10 gear ratio ?

Weird. The decoder I have skips YD4

YD3= Axle (base equip) for scheduling GVW plate

YD5= Spring front, base equipment

I was thinking that too but the axle codes I've seen always start with a "G".

You are again taking a SPID out of context. This a very early 72 Flint second line (300001+) SPID when they were changing the RPO format from letter sufix codes to numeric.
Unfortunately it has sometimes resulted in TMI meltdown when people see unexpeced codes that don't make sense to them, from both Flint and St.Louis on early to mid 72 units.

Specifically these are base equipment build codes that do not belong on a SPID which was generally reserved for options or variations of the base build for a specific model in this time period.

Here is another SPID from the same time period and line. It shows the same front and rear axle and spring codes, gvw plate and even the base mirrors.

Thanks for the explanation but I don't understand your the comment about me "again taking a Spid out of context".
