Help. Can't close rear hatch

I feel, like a dummy. Drove home with lumber sticking out of rear and hatch open. Now cannot get hatch to close. Left side won't un latch? I'm using equal pressure on either side pushing up. Usually it will then drop. Is there a release pin? Matt

Up down up down, jiggle jiggle, shake shake
Seriously though, one side is still locked, you should be able to just work the one side up and down.

That happened to me too. I ended up having to unbolt the stuck side. I'm down to just one hatch slide now all the time since the slide that kept getting stuck is just plain wore out.

Re: Help. Can't close rear hatch

Mine did this one time, after opening it. Only one side "latched" open, and the other side didn't completely extend. I played with it for a while and ended up opening the hatch just enough for one latch to "toggle" either in to latch mode or un-latch mode, where both sides were in the same position at the same height. Not sure if that makes sense, but if you look at the center section that toggles, you can see they rotate inside of the structure. Seems, maybe I had someone hold one side of the hatch while in the position of where the latches just "toggle" over and I pushed up or down and basically flexed the hatch enough on one side to toggle only one latch. Sounds confusing, but try it.

Re: Help. Can't close rear hatch

Mine were stiff, with old grease and dirt, would latch on 1 side and then release and latch on the other. Took them off, they slide apart and cleaned inside and out with steel wool. Lubed them up and they are like new. ( Your results may vary.)
