Ridler wheel package. Front wheel backspacing off?
Here is what I'm looking to buy. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/wtd/5797199333.html
I'm going to put 275/40 up front with 315/30 in the rear. Should the backspacing on the front wheels be more like 5.25 instead of 4.75? Truck is a 68 with 70 5 lug parts and has 4/6 drop. Last edited by bolivier; 09-26-2016 at 12:23 PM. |

Re: Ridler wheel package. Front wheel backspacing off?
After a little research I've found that this is the only backspacing available on these wheels. Maybe I should get the 245/45 tires for the front so I don't have to worry about the tire hitting the inner fender lip.
Here's the truck everything is going on. Also, a pic of a truck I found with these wheels on it. It has 245/45 front and 275/40 rear. |

That...exact... package is significantly less expensive from quality high volume sellers on Ebay.
Unless the available tires are a really great deal...

Ebay link where they are cheaper? I can find just the wheels, but no wheel and tire combo.
You guys do realize that it's $1500 out the door with wheels and tires. About an hour from me. Last edited by bolivier; 09-26-2016 at 05:53 PM. |

The original CL ad has been deleted by author, but it read to me as though tires were
"AVAILABLE " but not "INCLUDED"

Tires included with choices of which size. I could buy wheels and tires individually and have them balance and maybe save $100. Not worth it to me. I don't think the 1/2" difference of backspacing is going to matter. Just wondering if I just go with the 245s up front to kind of offset the 1/2" further the wheel is sticking out. |

My mistake. Parts truck is a 71 with factory 5 lug discs up front.

You cannot talk about one without the other. What width wheels are you trying to fit on the front of your truck? And wheel DIAMETER will also affect the amount of backspacing you have before the wheel lip makes contact with the lower a-arm (backside) or the fender opening, (front side).
