Wrecked 67

Well I finally finished with the new engine on Sunday, drove grandads old 67 C-10 to work on Monday, Ran great. On the way in today Someone in a new F*&^ truck crossed two lanes of traffic and got me on the D/S bed. This spun the truck sidways, and let me tell you sideways on the freeway is no fun. After wiping out a newer Tahoe and a Honda SUV I spun completly backwards and got a vw passat with my rear bumper. I had her towed to a dealer and there she sits until, I assume they call her totaled and write a check. Then I will drag her home and start tearing into it. Looks like about three grand in sheet metal and trim parts. I might try to find a donor truck to rob from. Too much sentimental value to part out or sell to a wrecker. I hope I have prepared you all for the months of coming questions, parts requests, etc. You have been a big help this far.
Andy

Andy, glad to hear you are OK.
Who was cited for the accident? From what you say it should be the dip wad in the Ford, but as we all know, the police report does not always tell the whole story.
You may be suprised, but sentimental value can actually play a role in the size of the check you recieve. I had a friend in Tx get twice as much for his totalled 12 second daily driver 67 LWB when he mentioned it was the only vehicle he has ever owned. Bought it the day he got his temps in '82. (It was totalled in 2000)
Lets hope for no frame damage.

Glad to hear you are ok.

Wrecking a vehicle is no fun indeed...especially if it has alot of centimental value....But if the frame isn't bent too bad, throw on some new sheetmetal and go enjoy it again

the best part is that you walked away from it! My oldest kid got T boned in front of the house.......the truck was a total, but the kid was lucky that @sshole hit him behind the cab Dude, I damn near "lost it"..... if you saw an old man in the middle of the street with no shoes, you would know what i was talking about. the old man that hit him was pretty arrogant, & looked like trouble.....till he saw one crazy lookin SOB walk across the street. the kid couldnt get out of that truck fast enough.....& he was cussing that dude all the way!(he got Moms attitude....LOL!) We had a lot of time in that sb Chev powered ranger.......but the truck was replaceable......my boys are NOT! good luck in your ventures, crazyL
