65 GMC swb build
I have spent the past year collecting parts for this build. I started by purchasing a 65 GMC 3/4 ton , not really knowing what direction I would go with the truck when I built it. After doing some research , I decided that I wanted power steering and power disc brakes. That led to me buying a 78 GMC donor truck. I also wanted a short fleetside bed, and looked high and low for a frame. I found one this past June that had been hiding right under my nose for at least a year. While collecting the parts I needed I was busy selling off the unwanted stuff on Ebay. Using the $$ to get the machine work done on my 327 and buying other needed parts for the suspension and paying to sandblast my swb frame. This is where I am at right now, let the fun begin.

Here are some photos of the 3/4 ton when I bought it last summer and the swb parts truck that donated it's frame.

Re: 65 GMC swb build
Worked on the 65 all weekend, converting the frame from the GMC leafs in the rear to a Chevy coilover setup. I have the frame painted and ready to have the suspensions moved over from the longbed frame. They are all rebuilt and ready to go, just need to unbolt and move them over next weekend. The truck will be dropped 2 1/2 in the front and 4 in the rear. I also removed the doors and seat from the cab, I have to replace the cab supports before putting it on the shortbed frame. Power will come from a 327/700r4 combo with either 3.42 or 3.73 gears. As you see in the photos I have another toy to go out and have fun in while working on the truck.

Re: 65 GMC swb build
Made a lot of progress on the truck today. I removed the cab from the long bed frame and moved the suspensions over to the short bed frame. They are held in place by just a few bolts, I still have to drill a few holes and get it all bolted together nice and tight. But overall I feel I had a productive day.
