Do you have a lift or is it stock. I have heard that you can buy lines at NAPA that are longer than stock if you have a lift. The part # is listed on CK5.com someplace.

Chevy Duty is the only place I've found that has lines for a 4X4. $155 for steel, $185 for Stainless (complete set - 10 pcs).

I'm confused. I didn't read your whole post that you were looking for the lines front to back. Please ignore my previous post.

Pual,

I saw the kit at chevy duty. The problem is they say it takes 2 to 3 weeks to receive the parts. I was hoping to get the parts sooner, due to my K5 is my daily vehicle.

The reason for sooner is becuase I have one line that is broken. I am having problems just replacing the broken line, due to they are the original line and seem to be frozen together. Looks like I may have to replace all Front to back lines.

I sprung a leak in one of my lines from the rear pumpkin to the wheel cyl. I bought a straight piece of brake line and bent it myself. It didn't look pretty, but it gave me my brakes back.

Trying to get them apart is the other challenge.

Paul,

After I finally manged to seperate the lines and hoses apart, I bought the straight pieces and a new rear hose from autozone. Like you said, it is not pretty, but it works.
Thanks again..

Hey Blake!

Good to hear you're up and running! If it weren't for cheap fixes and a little creativity, my rig would have been off the road a long time ago!!

Welcome back!

Paul

Bouncy (and all others for that matter),

FYI; if you walk into a NAPA and ask Joe Corncob behind the counter for a front left brake line for a '70 K5 with a 4" lift, he'll look at you like you're green with 3 heads . Such a part does exist, but they'll have to dive into the books (indeed a lost art), find the OEM line, find the fitting on each end, find the length, then look in the back of the book for a line with the same ends, but X" longer.

Just so you don't give up at the parts store when looking for stuff. A competent counterman can find just about anything like that, but 9 times out of 10, you'll get a dip$hit high school kid that just won't try, or doesn't know where to look.

When at the parts store, be persistent, and have the best guys help out if the morons can't

----------

InlineTube can make just about anything you're looking for in brake lines; they may be pricey. For my $$, and how long it takes to rust through a set of OEM metal lines, I'd just roll with whatever replacement steel lines are available from ChevyDuty, GMCPauls, etc. If you want SS, do it up though......
