Re: Truck u c10

Yes I have, Im recording it also. They fired it up on todays episode but just briefly. Im not a fan of that particular patina job personally but I am building my 72 nearly identical to that one. Im using the truck version instead of the corvette lt1, but I think 365 horse should be plenty awesome for a DD. Check out aboesec10 build. Hes the first one I know of to do this swap. Also check out 87chevy.com build in the lsx swap portion of this forum. COOL STUFF....

Thats right. I knew it was one of them... I like your choice of blue and your patina job looks great! More pics please At this point my truck will also be the cheapie 2 tone blue and white or teal/aqua and white faux patina, but color choice is always hard for me... One thing is clear to me, my "Ochre" has got to go. I always called it baby s#*! yellow.

^^^ looks good! Thats one of the cool things about a patina job, if you dont love it you can just try again... I'd love to try a serious paint job some day but need to focus on mechanicals first. Mine was an original long bed with a tired 350/TH350 and now its a short bed with a gen 5 LT1 and a 6 speed auto.

Re: Truck u c10

I've been watching the show. I like watching all the shows during that block, but one thing that blows my mine is the $$$ they spend. This episode they were talking about a couple of hours really changes the look of your truck...yeah and about $3-4k of products you installed does too!

66clow, I agree...it would look better if you brought a little more of the black out on your patina work. But I like the way its looking!

Thanks for the feed back. I know a lot of folks are not fans of the fake stuff but if you don't have funds for a real paint job this will do for me. It looks better than than Gray or black primer to me. I'll have less than $80 in rattle can so you can't beat that. Kinda funny to me with these shows as well love watching them and kinda straight forward stuff they are doing but it is not coming out of their pockets or alot of them not even the shows pockets since they are sponsored. Still good info to know so when the funds are there for me I have something to go by.

Sorry.. only read the title of thread and first post..

I'm sure the show and guys that built it would love the pats on the back.. maybe the title should be changed.
