I Believe this is a Resister ,but it fell apart while

reinstalling the duct work behind the dash...I need assistance in putting it back together the correct way ..

I have these 3 parts and I have used search on this forum and my two books ,,one being the service manual and the other the factory assembly instruction manual .. none of them gives me exactly what I need to put this switch together.

As shown I have 3 parts .. one is the spring that is smaller on one end than the other.,, it fits over the plastic nipple looking part and both fit up into the casing of the switch ..

My question is this ..does this washer go to this assembly and if so ,, where is it located ,, it is a fiber washer and not metalic.

If I remember right.
Its been a while since I had mine a part. The washer goes down in the barrel then the plunger goes through the washer and out the top. Then the spring big end towards the wire connector.
It's just a on/off switch.

The washer is to small of a hole to get the barrel of the button pusher thru it ,, and if I put it down the barrel it would slide down the two prongs that hook to the plug then it would make the two prongs stay together and not touch the sides to make contact... I got it to work with continuity over and over ,,but every time I bent any or all the little clips over to hole it together ,no continuity ,, so I am going to buy a new one ..

This what I am doing anyway ,is replace all the resisters and relays under the dash ,,just to get it done and feel like it will be the sons job next time..

As for the washer? I cannot see where it would do anything to help at all ..cause I got it work over and over by holding it tight in my hand .. it may of been from something else as I have a lot undone under there..

Yea, I'm with you man it could be from something else. The washer. I took mine a part years ago and it's been working good sense.
