Meet the new guy from Texas

I am a long time lurker and finally, I decided to post. I have a 1969 GMC 1500 Longbed and I am new to American motors but so I am so happy I finally got one. I am learning to weld and looking forward to doing some engine work to her. That's about it I live in Oak Hill an unincorporated patch right outside of Austin. I am looking forward to learning and sharing. Here is a picture of my truck. If I can figure this out.

Thank you!!! I am hoping to find some local folks in austin to meet up and cruise, talk, wrench together, and have a few beers if y'all partake.
