Firewall cab markings. Jocko, SS-tim

I think one of you guys were collecting info about this at one time?
Here is a cab I just got recently. low hump, cab lights, A/C, headliner and cargo light.

Tim, I think there is a plaid burb on the parts board right now...

Thanks TMS, That cab is from the St. Louis assembly plant. Also a Z84 or YE9 trim level. Thanks for posting it.

Was that you collecting that info? There are a couple marks that didn't show up very well. I may have to take a couple better pics. Thought it was odd it had A/C on both sides of the trans area.

Yes, But Tim and Mark have a interest too. We still don't know what the 6 in the middle of the firewall is or the number/letters on the side of the cowl. What year is the cab?

I've seen the double AC before... but often it's just on the passenger side.

1972 cab. The 1971 mark is under the cowl. The faded number pic is in the cab where the gas tank would sit.

Truck was built toward the end of august in 1971. The faded number is the job number. Your side cowl marking is interesting. Still haven't got that one figured out yet. Several trucks have been posted with markings in that spot. Did your cab come with a SPID. Do you know if it was a Z84 Cheyenne or YE9 Super? 4T shows up on both. Thanks again for posting the pics.

Yes please, always fun to see the St. Louis trucks. They were lettered up much more that any of the other assembly plants.

10-4 I'll be moving it this week anyway so I'll snap a few of the fire wall.

Re: Firewall cab markings. Jocko, SS-tim

Dave, post them up and let's take a look. I have some 66 markings. You have a GMC..was it built at Pontiac or where. You can start a thread on the 60-66 side, if you want and I'll take a look plus several guys over there will also see it. Each assembly plant was different. Some didn't mark them at all.

Thanks bruceman, question posted on 60-66 page, so as not to hijack this thread.

Here's a thread with a bunch of links to other threads. The one you are probably thinking of is the link in post#2. I think Pete (post 2) and Keith (post 3) have it pretty well covered.
