Count down to the grille install.....almost there

Ok guys I have been hashing out this front end for quite some time and it's almost complete. Here are some progress pics...I cut the center out. Welded in 4" of depth. Welded in and smoothed the fenders. And then hand made this grille. The lights going on it are buckets from a 46 mercury truck. They are moved in and up 3/4" from stock location...

Nice work! I love it. It'll be very reminiscent of some of the concept truck pics I've seen for our trucks. Is that the look you're going for?

Re: Count down to the grille install.....almost there

Cool, I've seen some photos from a show back in 67-72 where there was a 67-68 with this grille treatment, I believe it was pulling a camaro of the same vintage. I always loved that pic. Found it!!!! Not the pic from the show, but just as cool.

Re: Count down to the grille install.....almost there

Well working late has made it hard to get the final pics. I have it some what in but I still need to make some brackets for the top and get it set perfect. It's not all lined up yet and the top is tilting out some in these pics. I also think it will really pop when the headlights and bezels are in. Here are some inspiration pics along with some half installed pics of mine....let me know what you think!

Re: Count down to the grille install.....almost there

Very Cool ! Did you know that if you place a 67-69 camaro hood on top of a 67-72 chevy truck hood, the "V" angle on the very front of both hoods are exactly the same angle !
I know because I have both setting in my garage laying up against each other next to the wall.

All that beautiful work...

I'd can the two LEDs under the center of the grille. Makes it look to much like Pep Boys.

I don't generally like when these trucks are customized very much. I prefer them stock appearing but low and on 20's with a modern drive train. With that being said, I dig what you have done. Good job, it looks killer!
