Headlights on 83 1 ton not working

All of the lights on my 83 are working except the headlights. If there is a thread on the board, I can't seem to find it. Could someone help me out or possibly tell me where to start to find the problem? Not much of an electrician and not a lot of patience.

Thanks.

Re: Headlights on 83 1 ton not working

I had something like that happen on my 87, just one light wouldn't work. Ensure that it isn't a bad bulb or fuse first. Un-crimp the bayonet plug that attaches to the headlight, then touch the wire to a test light. (The kind that lights up when you have a complete circuit). If you get a light, then just clean up the bayonet plug, and crimp or solder the wire back on. If you still have no lights, check your ground. Hope this helps.

Yes, park lights work. Just seems to be the headlights that aren't working.

x2

Check the floor mounted dimmer switch. Stomp it a couple times and it might clean the contacts and work again. Even if that does work, I'd replace it before it does it again...
