Post Platinum00 Build thred

Hello everyone my name is Richard I am Active Duty Air Force. We just recently moved back to the US. I have been on here for a while but have never started my build thread so here it is. I love these trucks. I had one in high school I bought is when I was 14 for $300 it was a 1971 C20, I spend a few years restoring it before I was able to drive (blue and White one). Now that we are back state side I wanted another one. So I picked up this 1967, 2 owner A/C truck it had been sitting 10 years 7 in Oklahoma. The man I purchased it from was a medically retired Senior Master Sargent who had a heart attack. He said they owned it since 1979 and they called it the Red Baron. He was excited I was going to restore it so I have been keeping them up-to-date with the build. However, when I returned for Africa about 6 months ago I found out he had passed away while I was gone. We decided to put his name on the glove box you will see it in some of the photos. Thanks for checking it out let me know what you guys think.

This it my truck from high school next post I will start the new truck.

It is was pretty rough, temp gauge didn't work the whole way home and it was puking coolant at the gas station, the fun of the oldies right.

Re: Platinum00 Build thred

Truck has a 305 in it out of a 84 Caprice and a TH400. I found rags stuffed in the fire wall. Spark plugs in the AC lines, taped over. Wire nuts packing tape and all kinds of un safe wiring.

Re: Platinum00 Build thred

That can be a nice truck just like any. It's a '68 and that's a great start! C'mon, what was in the ash tray??

If you want to do a build thread we have a sub-forum just for build threads up above.

Thank you for your service to our nation.

Here ya go.. Your paint looks to be in better shape, and there are a couple differences. I have small rear window, and mine has the bright red interior with buddy buckets. But at first glance though...

Aaaannnd it won't let me. Let me see if photobucket helps at all. Trying to do this from my phone.
