Leaky Muncie sm465
New guy here!
Had my 465 rebuilt in San Antonio a few months back and didn't stab it to the 292 in my 76' K15 till recently.... pour in the gear oil to the edge of the filler hole and sure as sh&t ... the oil starts running out the front of the tranny. It looks like the main shaft cover but I can't be sure... I plan on dropping the beast (with the NP 205) and before I have to haul it 250 miles back to SA maybe I can find and fix the problem.. any souls out there experience anything like this? |

I have that tranny in my 70 and K5, never had one leak like that. Their is a seal and gasket under the mainshaft cover. There is a gasket under the counter shaft cover. Both are on the front.

Thanks Jims
I ment the counter shaft cover... can't believe they would have left a gasket out. Hopefully drop it this weekend. |
