1971 Seat Belt Questions
Hi there,
I'm piecing together a 71 Blazer and had a couple questions about seat belts. The driver's belt is the same as a retractable truck belt, correct? Is the short, passenger retractor belt unique to 69-72 Blazers? Or is this belt used in later years or any other GM models? Thanks! Kyle |

Re: 1971 Seat Belt Questions
I think the PS did come in other GM vehicles but not sure which ones. I found I set in the junkyard that had a left and right short one. They came out of a truck but were not factory in that vehicle. The mounting brackets were different but the molded number on the cover was the same as mine. I just used retractors from the correct era truck and they snap right on.

Re: 1971 Seat Belt Questions
So Blazer's used the short retractor in the passenger side to allow better egress to the rear seat?
Trying not to hijack, but does anyone have a pic of the floor attachment point for the buckle portion? I've put Blazer buckets/console in my Suburban and the (former bench seat) attachment seams too far rearward.
