"People's Choice"
Rolled up on a big money Camaro / Corvette local show to look at all the goodies, including the new Z28 ($109,000 ). After one of the judges suggested I register to be judged... Lo and Behold 'Rose' wins Peoples Choice!
My dad and brother also showed up in their 49 GMC and the 51 Chevy pickups and took Best Classic with the 51! I didn't take a bunch of pics because I had no clue they would pick a old truck over a primo 69 Camaro (there were several) or a 65-67 Vette (more than several). Moral of the story is that our trucks design continues to show its beauty 40+ years after they were conceived.

Re: "People's Choice"
Bruceman! You should have seen the huge money cars 'Rose' beat out! Incredible. A true testament to GM Truck design.
One was a fantastic original DZ302 Camaro.

Re: "People's Choice"
It seems as nice as some are the Camaros are old news , They've become too expensive to build and out of reach for the average joe , While these old trucks are just coming into their own and affordable on many levels . Just as we all saw the old Camaros being pulled from the weeds for complete restorations or resto-modded we're now seeing it happen with the trucks .
On a side note Reno I'm stealing your paint color for one of my 67's . I saw a 66 shortbed this afternoon cruising down hwy 33 in North Knoxville sporting a variation of sea mist green with white accents and it looked perfect . Ol Rose , Peoples choice

Re: "People's Choice"
Thanks Grump, I think the main attraction is this color. I had a crowd around before I could get parked.

A beautiful truck getting it's just rewards. Congratulations on all your work.
P.S. I love it a green GMC proving the world doesn't need another red Camaro.

Re: "People's Choice"
Congrats on the win and bonus points for it being a
Although folks love to see my 69 Z10 Camaro, it pales on the popularity front with my 72 step side. Just today, I'm sitting at a convenience store in my truck reading an email, when a lady knocks on my hood to get my attention. She then walks around to the passenger door, opens it to take a look around. That's the first time I've ever had a stranger open the door uninvited to ask me questions. I think our trucks are just more approachable that many high end muscle cars.

Re: "People's Choice"
Sweet! Your truck looks fabulous, and glad to see the general public recognize that these old GMC/Chev trucks are beautifully-styled pieces of Americana.

Re: "People's Choice"
To me, the People's Choice awards are the highest award. No prejudiced judges, No judgement on technical accuracy, just what the most people liked the most.
That is exactly what I was thinking to say. But, the truck stands on it's own merit up against other 67-72s had it been a truck show as well. The Camaros are done as perfect examples of different ways one could be optioned straight off the floor. Once you've oohed and awwed at "this one has this as well as that!", nothing was done to make one stand out over the others, unless it was just plain ordered with more, unusual combos, in a color combo that is loved today. Your truck is personalized to your tastes after plenty of forethought bringing about a subtle custom that retains the essence of the original that so many love. Or is it the color?

Re: "People's Choice"
Your truck has the look of what I'm building into my farm truck ,Meaning a classy classic ! A lightly custom truck that could have been built back in the day when they were new .tastefully detailed and personalized without going crazy with add ons and just kept with a clean sharp attention to detail look , It's a lot harder look to achieve than many people may realize. When I go to shows I'm not impressed by the biggest engine( I have a few) ,the lowest drop( huge mistake ) ,or how many options someone dumped into it (over done ) , I look for the attention paid to the install of every system . Your truck has that look !

No shock and Congrats on the award. Your truck is one of my favorites. Spearmint green or something like, if I recall.

Re: "People's Choice"
Congrats! People love something that is nice, but different... My wife has a Chevelle, and I have a Pinto, and if we go to a show and park side by side my car gets more interest because it is different! Her car is nice, but there are always dozens of Chevelles... When we get my daughters 67 C10 done, I bet she gets attention too. Anyways, very nice truck, enjoy it!
