Maiden Burnout (2 C10s) Video

Finally got out 3 C10's together today (mine, Dad's, Brother's) during out annual sausage making get together. Took a break and got this walk-around and burnout vid. Was a great day!

Very cool! I've always said, If you cant afford the gas or the tires, then you cant afford to drive an old Chevy truck with some muscle under the hood! So how much for 5lbs of the smoked sausage sent to 68355? A little tire smoke goes good with just about anything...Heres my first place winning burnout at the Midwest Truck Nationals last month. I'm running almost the same set up you have in a 72 LWB. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=717766 The youtube link is in the 1st post. ~Ghostrider~

Yea, I'm in love with the sound. Am putting a few miles on it now and loving every minute.

Ironangel, your truck sounds really mean. What do you do to get enough vacuum for your brakes?

That is a very good question because I really didn't change anything. I havent measured the vacuum on the BB, it seems to have plenty because there are no low vacuum issues. I put a new Hydro-vac unit on with a new MC about three years ago. The 396 came out of a 1969 SS El Camino and has been bored .060" over to make it a 408. It has a set of closed chambered heads that bumped the compression up a bit. It has a rather mild hydraulic 268H Comp Cam that works quite well for street manners and has a bit of a lope or a chop at idle. It has Speed/Pro forged pistons with 22cc domes. And the 3" pipes contribute much to enhance that big block sound. I havent had any issues with poor braking from a low vacuum situation. In fact, I have the rear drum hydraulics disconnected for that burnout run. "Aint hard to stop if you aint movin!"
