Just picked up '81 short bed 4x4 today. I really wanted to change the grill and lights to those from '87 like the one my dad had back in the day. It was his very first NEW vehicle. Would I have to change the whole clip or just the radiator support?

You will be ok, won't have to change a thing. Although you will have to change the radiator support, if you only have single headlights and you want to go with the quad headlights. At least I believe that's the case.

Mine has the quad lights like yours, and there is nothing there except the 4 lights. No grill, no headlight buckets, nothing. LOL

Mine is like TKCR's, I want it to be the single round like the '70's trucks.

I guess I misunderstood, I thought you were wanting the 87 look. If your wanting to gon70's with round headlights, then yes you will need to swap out the radiator support and then some. Not sure of all the parts.

Have you done a search of the forum, about grille swapping? You should be able to find everything you need to know.
