I got one a couple of years ago from the local NAPA auto parts. It was very reasonably priced and a good quality core. It fit perfect .

I replaced mine with one from NAPA auto parts about 7 or 8 years ago... I guess I want a longer lasting one

Re: Heater Core quality ???

I just replaced an A/C heater core, read a lot of heater core threads here prior and found a copper brass one at advance auto parts online, it was also cheaper than local auto parts stores and rockauto.
The construction is a bit different but the core was same thickness as the original. The wire core mounts need some tweaking to work as the original core had clearance between the tubes and the core for the wire mount, the replacement does not have this clearance. I suspect the replacement for non-A/C is similar

Re: Heater Core quality ???

If you use an aluminum heater core (nothing wrong with that) you need to stay on top of your coolant chemistry. If the coolant gets too old and becomes electrolytic, it'll eat the aluminum parts first. Brass is "nobler" than cast iron, so a brass heater core will last longer, all things considered.

Re: Heater Core quality ???

I got mine from National parts depot. Copper brass and about the same price as some aluminum ones. Had to tweak the mounting straps a bit, but fit great.
