1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
I am finally going to get my '63 road worthy - but need belts. Anyone know the best spot to locate turquoise belts for all seats in a Suburban/CarryAll?

Porsche,
If your suburban is like mine, the seat belts have clips at the bottom rather than bolting directly to the body. If that's the case, these guys can help: https://www.seatbeltplanet.com |

Originally Manufactured by the Irving Air Chute Co for Chevrolet. Model IC-5000.
62 had a different webbing than the version in 63. If you look on older lift trucks, they have a version that is very similar to the Irving's. Just need to get a reproduction sticker to trompe d'oeil the real thing. I have gotten my last couple of sets from these guys. http://www.andoauto.com/index.htm They will custom make the stuff you need if they don't have a stock solution.

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
Any chance any of this info will transfer and/or work with a 60 suburban? I'm pretty sure not an option back there, but I'm planning adding some. I'm thinking shoulder harness for the side seats and lap belts in the middle. I had find a company that made done I thought might work, don't have their info handy right now. I just need to find mounting locations.

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
I got mine for my 65 Suburban through Classic Industries. Right now they are just bolted to the seat floor plates(back seat belts) but going to try to get them through the floor when it warms up.

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
Any reason I can't do a shoulder harness style and install the shoulder mount in the pulsar behind driver/passenger seat? Then on rear seat, install it right below the window frames?
The company I was looking at had you drilling a 1" hole then plugging it, but it appears these panels remove easily enough, I wouldn't have to drill an extra hole. Any pics of aftermarket installs, especially with shoulder harness, would be great. My 11y/o says she won't ride in burb workout seat belts...lol...glad she's thinking safely! I figure theirs will be the first install in back, but then I don't want them to be parentless, so I'll have to add the front soon after... |

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
a friend of mine gave me a set of shoulder belts from a 79 Chevy P/U. The drivers side would be ok, but the retractor on the passenger side would be in the way of getting in the back of my truck so probably wont use them. Was going to munt the upper part to one of the panel screws running up the side.

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
retracted there really isn't a problem. It's the housing for the retractor that gets in the way.

Re: 1963 Suburban SEAT BELTS?
Is this a large retractor or not. The ones I've seen online don't seem overly large. I guess I'll have to go look. I wonder what a salvage yard would charge vs going new.
