best way to lower rear 4"
Hi, I want to do a 2"/4" drop on my 1971 c10 truck. Its not a daily driver but I want to maintain has much hauling suspension travel for the rear as I can. I was thinking I would just use 2" drop coils up front and either 2" or 3" drop coils in the rear and make a 1" or 2" lowering block to make up the rest of the rear drop depending on which springs I get for the rear. Ex: get 2" rear coils and 2" block or 3" coil and 1" block to get the 4" drop in the rear. Would I need shock re-locators if I lowered it this way? Or should I just buy a complete 2/4 kit with re-locators and panhard bar shocks ect... Hope all that made sense. Thanks

Re: best way to lower rear 4"
Cpp has a 2" lowering block for rear with the new u bolts. Then you could use a 2" lowering spring without compromising all your spring

Re: best way to lower rear 4"
thats what I was thinking. So its better to go with a 2" spring and 2" block, Not a 3" spring and 1" block. If I go with the 2" spring and block would I need lowering shocks or shock re-locators? or a pandhard bar? thanks

Re: best way to lower rear 4"
I read somewhere if you go 3" or more you need shocks and locators.

Re: best way to lower rear 4"
I think your right, but I think thats if you go 3" or more using just springs. If I use a 1" or 2" springs then use 1" or 2" blocks it seems to me that its only really a 2" suspension drop and would not need drop shocks or re-locators.
