Another new guy from San Diego!

Just acquired a 66 C20 and am loving it. Got it for my daily driver and of course a toy!

Still learning all there is to know about it. Looks like it has a 97-99 lt1 (or Vortec) mill 350 with a 700r4 trans. Been lowered and stanced on 22's although I'm not the biggest fan of them. Anyway glad to meet everyone and look forward to learning more about the truck!

Welcome to the forum

Looks like a decent truck (not crazy about the wheels either). Is it still 8 lug?

That engine is definitely not a '96-'99 LT1 and not a Vortec 350 either with what looks like a cast iron intake. It is more than likely just a '87-'95 TBI 350.

I took down all the engine codes and looked them up:

5.7 LG SG1 on the rear DS block, 10243880 on PAX side rear with V0531PJF on the front side under the alternator. Using nastyz28's website I came up with a 95-99 350, 4 bolt main, one piece rear seal.

My guess is one of the prior owners had that manifold and carb (quadrajet marine version) laying around and just threw it on to get it running. Replacing Those two things will be my first project.

It's been converted over to 5 lugs. After the holidays I plan on putting on a set of US Mag wheels....lthey have a couple different styles I like.

Welcome from a fellow San Diegan! Nice truck. Probably be seeing you around at the various local gearhead events.
