my rear step notch
I've recieved alot of pm's on my rear notch from the post on dropping crossmembers. My notch was a weld together kit from turners. It's a 7" step notch. I used a competition engineering adjustable track bar to locate the rear end. Now i'm finding after my drop crossmember project that i'm needing to go 3 or 4 inches lower in the rear. So i'm going to build a backhalf with a suburban front half that i have. This way i'll have a notched SWB frame to sell...????
The picture attached is how it sat aired out with a bag plate in the front

looks good I am into the rear of my longhorn, doing ladder bars & trying to decide tween coil overs or bags. Being new to the bag scene, i have a question......How does the truck ride with the bags over the axle? crazyL

it rides great, i would rather have mounted the bags farther apart though. They are too close together and make it sway more than it should. It all depends on what you want to do when deciding between coils and bags. Coils are alot cheaper, while bags give you the ability to adjust your ride height for different loads.

what do you think is best? Monster no tch&bags under the notch......or outside the frame rails?

i'd go outside if you can make them fit there. I really dont know what i was thinking putting them inside the frame rails....If you're just looking for a good ride and not to lay it on the ground...put the bags where the coils are supposed to go. Then you will get the good ride.

Do you have any pics or details on that Notch itself? How hard was it to install? How much does Turners sell them for? I'm looking for something exactly like that.

how does the sleeve bag work out on the 1/2 ton trucks?once again, being new to bags......I am totallly illiterate on the subject. Better put, what rating is needed on a sleeve bag for a 1/2 ton truck , to run on top or behind the axle?

My truck rides just fine...I cant say better than the sleeve bag, because I have never rode with one. But in my opinion, it rides 10x better than the coils ever could.....I know nothing on the sleeve bag setup.

You said that you might sell your frame. I might need one. How much would you be asking for it? Let me know when you decide what you're going to do. I have access to our tow truck when ever I need it, so getting it down here wont be an issue. Thanks,

I have my bags mounted to the outside of the frame just for the ride reason. I fiqured it would cut down on body roll and this seems to have been a good idea after reading your post. What are prices on the sleeve bag and will they mount using a ART brackets drilled for 2500 and 2600 # bags??
