Need Help with VIN Number 1960 Chevy Pick up - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hello
I Need your Help about a Vin Nr...
A Friend of mine here in Germany has bought a 1960 Chevy 1/2 ton Chevy Pick up Long bed..
He have some Problems with the Vin Nr

Number is 0C1540118970

with this Number we couldn find where it was build so we Change the Number after 4 into a O Letter... so it tell us

1960
1/2 ton
Pick up
build in Oakland

But now they told us here in Germany O wasn t in 1960

Would be realy great if someone can help us further !!!!!!

So what do you need? You have it correct. The tk was built in Oakland California. weather is a o or a zero in the vin it was still built in Oakland. The Oakland plant was in Oakland from 1916 to 1963 which in late 63 moved to Fremont California. goggle Oakland assembly plant in Oakland Ca for all the info you need. good luck
