69 c10 lights
I rewired my 69 c10 with a painless harness. When I turn on headlight switch to parking light position all lights come on but when I turn on headlight ,front maker lights shut off and headlights come on . Is this correct?

Yes, for early models but I think in 69 it changed I maybe wrong on the year though. It may be 70 when they changed it.

Re: 69 c10 lights
This might be addressed in your kits instructions. I recently installed an AAW kit in my 69 ( I know, not Painless ), and the instructions mentioned this situation.
To have all lights on, you need to unpin the park light wire from the headlight switch connector and move it to a different socket/terminal. Again, this is for AAW, and I don't know if Painless uses the same system. Just a thought. |

The '67 MY was something like that [but no side markers] -- the "Parking Lights" came on with the first click of the Headlight switch knob, and they went out and the Headlights (only) came on with the second click. On the '68s, the side markers are only reflectors, running lights on 1st click, heads and all lights on 2nd click. [I owned a '68 first, and when I bought a '67 --maybe 20 years later -- I thought something was wrong.] I'm not expert with the '69 MY. I understand some later-production run models had lighted side markers. On the '71 MY trucks, the yellow front lights and the front and rear markers and the tail lights come on with the 1st click, and the Headlights are added with the 2nd click. Nothing goes out. '71 Front only side markers blink opposite to the turn signal lights. Rear markers go on but don't blink with turn signals.

Re: 69 c10 lights
Both the 69 & 70 have park lamps that stay on with the headlamps. Stock wire harness on both, but replacement headlamp switch on both. Not sure if thats factory correct, but that's what I have.
